These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HomeBase mobile application ("HomeBase" or the "App"), operated by Walterton Adventures LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using HomeBase, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of service
HomeBase is an AI-assisted informational tool that helps homeowners understand home repair and maintenance projects. The App provides guidance on project complexity, DIY feasibility, tool and material recommendations, and maintenance scheduling.
HomeBase is an informational resource. It is not a substitute for professional advice from licensed contractors, electricians, plumbers, structural engineers, or other qualified professionals.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use HomeBase. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use HomeBase only for its intended purpose: personal home repair and maintenance guidance. You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent safety warnings or hard stops provided by the App
- Misrepresent your skill level or the conditions of a project in order to receive guidance that may be unsafe
- Use the App to generate content for commercial resale
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models or data
5. Disclaimer of warranties
HomeBase provides general informational guidance only. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of any guidance provided by the App. Specifically:
- AI-generated recommendations may contain errors and should always be verified independently
- The App does not assess your individual skill level, physical capabilities, or local building code requirements
- You are solely responsible for evaluating whether a project is safe and appropriate for you to undertake
- The App is not a substitute for a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, or other qualified professional
- You should always consult a qualified professional for work involving electrical systems, gas lines, structural modifications, or any project where safety is a concern
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Walterton Adventures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, loss of data, or financial loss, arising out of or related to your use of HomeBase.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50), whichever is greater.
7. Your responsibilities
When using HomeBase, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your home, equipment, and project conditions
- Follow all applicable local building codes, permit requirements, and regulations
- Heed safety warnings and hard stops displayed by the App
- Exercise your own judgment and common sense when undertaking any home project
- Consult a qualified professional when the App recommends doing so
8. Intellectual property
HomeBase, including its design, content, AI models, project templates, and underlying technology, is owned by Walterton Adventures LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your use of the App grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use HomeBase for personal, non-commercial purposes.
9. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from the App's Settings screen. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon account deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of HomeBase after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
